New website – finally!

This is the new North Kingdom website. It has been a long time coming, but you know how it is. We have been working with so many fun and interesting projects these past years that our own website has been in the shadow for a long long time. A few of you are probably wondering, “Where is the awesome flash?” “Where are the 3d characters?” “iPad friendly?” ”Huh? Is this another Wordpress based website?”. Answer is Yes! Less is more, or so they say. And they also say “Content is King”.

The idea of our new showcase is to show off our work, without any clutter and fancy animations. We will be adding “behind the scenes” material to some of our cases so you can follow our journey and how we work, from start to the very end. Hopefully that will inspire you. And there will also be other posts about things that are happening around us, trips, thoughts, tech-talk and all that jazz. Stay tuned for more folks and thanks for your patience while waiting for this launch.

  1. finally ;)

  8. Hi there. First than all guys my respect, I’m a fan of your work. About your new site is nice, clean, simple corporative, but I really want to take a moment and make a reflection. I’m a web designer and I’m update about this “content friendly display” wave, but honestly don’t you think this kind of web development is over using? I mean content, seo, and clean simple style is important but I feel that can be a middle point between a 100% flash site and a “wordpress age” site. After all you guys from North Kingdom and several others biggest and great agencies (like Fantasy Interactive for example) are CREATIVE AGENCIES so maybe people and mostly designers that find inspiration on your work expect smth more shoking.

Will be nice to hear a feedback from you… after all you are and will be always a model to follow in high quality and creative web & media content.

Over all my congrats, really nice site !,,!_ I just share a point of view and opinion!
    Cheers!

  9. @Boško Škrbina Hi there Boško! Thanks for your input. Well there are a few reasons why we chose to go with wordpress, but the main reason being that we are a small team and there are always client work to be done. So by using wordpress we are able to update the site more regularly. And we are the work we do, and all the work we do is different. So using a simple website we put more focus on the work, and not ourselves. We will post behind the scenes material which we hope can be inspiring for students and other people that are interested in what we do. Those are the reasons to use html and not flash. 95% of all the work we do is flash based so if you want flash, view our work! that is the place where we push our work and ourselves to the limit.

  11. so as a fairly flash based agency what does building an HTML based site send to your clients?

    dave 2010-01-31 20:14
  12. @dave Hey there Dave! Is there a difference between platforms? HTML or flash, they are just languages. We do communication, and we hope that what we put on here is interesting for people to read and engage with. And we hope our clients will too.

  13. love the clean look ..

somehow the body copy, the p tag, which is in helvetica, i’m guessing has a weird anti-aliasing … maybe sth wrong with my machine… but it does looks a little weird… and affects legibility and clarity of content… i’m not bashing… just an honest opinion… i do like how its more focused on content :)
