North Kingdom is looking for a Technical Director to work with us to create high quality digital experiences for some of the best brands in the world.
As a Technical Director, you have several years of hands-on experience in software development, primarily targeted towards the web. You understand the technical details of many areas of web-related technologies, and are able to suggest the best approach to solving a problem.
Your main task will be overseeing the development of a project together with the Core Team, consisting of a UX director, and Art Director and a Producer. Together you will drive projects from start to finish, taking executive decisions and making sure the project is a success.
This starts already in a project pitch, where you will be responsible to suggest a technical approach for the project. You will be working closely with clients to understand their needs, and plan for the technical execution. This involves selecting platforms and technologies that are suitable for the project, writing technical specifications, estimating time needed, and oversee the implementation. During projects you will also be in contact with the client to keep a continuous dialog, and convey information to the developers. You are also expected to occasionally help out with the actual software development where needed.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both software development and client communication. We see you as an experienced individual that has a deep understanding of the development process, and experience with the modern practices of both front- and back end development. You are open and good at communicating, listening to client needs and presenting a solution.
What skills are we looking for?
- Several years of software development experience
- Experience in cloud services, databases, back end development, 3d programming, app development and common testing frameworks are considered a merit
- Ability to express yourself very well in both written and spoken English
- Experience in researching and writing technical specifications
- Great communication skills and experience with client contact
- Leadership qualities, where you are able to support and guide the developers during projects
- Ability to work in several projects in parallel while maintaining a good overview of how the projects are progressing
